Plans? What Plans? A Visit to the Hospital

Well, Hud has had a bit of a cold this week. We didn't think it was anything all that unusual and attacked it with our typical barage of resouces, Tylenol, Donatussin, Benadryl, and breathing treatments. We kept him in on Wednesday and I shifted my works days to Wednesday and Thursday - but on Thursday afternoon on my way to get him, the daycare called to say he had a high fever and was coughing really bad. I called the doctor to get him in right away, called Sam who picked him up and we met at the pediatrician's office. During the visit, the nurse practitioner acted concerned and we had two breathing treatments, and some oxygen stats, before heading to the hospital to see if this was pneumonia!! UGH!

It was almost 6:00 by this time and Hud was starting to get hungry, so we stopped at Wendys because a sick and hungry two year old is never a good thing. The next challenge was presented when we were given an "option" between placing Hudson in this medieval contraption which they use for x-rays for small children or whether we could hold him still with Sam on one side and me on the other. We chose holding him (it seemed like the better option). Sam and I got suited up with x-ray shields, and got an x-ray shield for Hudson. The tech instructed us to hold his arms and legs while he was pressed up against the board - this wasn't such a huge deal but the hard part came when he was required to look straight forward at the board and NOT move. Well, we got that one done and then had a 2nd one to get which turned into a 3rd. Finally after many promises of suckers, drinks, and stickers, we were done and on our way home.

Good news: They think it is viral. We had another visit to the pediatrician this morning and he shows signs of improvement. Thank you to those who said a word of prayer!

Here is a picture of Sam sitting in the doctor's office. I was going to get more shots of Hud and Sam in the x-ray unit, but it was a little rough in there.
